Commercial Spaceflight Just Entered the Nuclear Age

SpaceX's Transporter-17 rideshare launched 81 satellites, including City Labs' BOHR cubesat, the first commercial nuclear satellite. The BOHR satellite tests NanoTritium betavoltaic technology, which generates power from tritium decay. The mission also exercised the FAA pathway for nuclear launch approval, secured in September 2025.
