A Peking University team led by Hao Dong, working with Shanghai robot maker PrimeBot, introduced HIL-UMI, a method for post-training vision-language-action models that collects correction data using a handheld gripper instead of a physical robot arm. The paper is on arXiv, with a project page at hil-umi.github.io. Dong is chief scientist at PrimeBot, the English brand of Qiyuan Robot.
