The White House Quantum Summit on July 7 set a 2028 deadline for an industrially useful quantum computer, part of a $2 billion push. The deadline is more aggressive than the Defense Department's 2033 target. GlobalFoundries CTO Gregg Bartlett called the goal challenging but accelerating.
