SpaceX is in talks with Charter Communications to become a direct-to-consumer mobile phone provider. The company already provides T-Mobile's T-Satellite coverage-gap service via Starlink. SpaceX paid $17 billion to Echostar for wireless spectrum. Starlink is SpaceX's only profitable division, but overall free cash flow was negative $9.1 billion in 2025.
