India's semiconductor opportunity is widening beyond wafer fabrication into design, materials, equipment and advanced packaging, YES Securities said after SEMICON India 2026. The government's Semicon 2.0 programme has an outlay of Rs 1,27,500 crore and has drawn about Rs 1 lakh crore in investment commitments, expected over two to three years. Applied Materials, Lam Research and Tata Electronics are investing.
