India Passes Data Centre Tax Incentive Simplification Bill

India's Lok Sabha passed the Taxation and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026, removing separate government approval requirements for data centre tax exemptions. The change extends benefits to leased facilities and existing data centres, aiming to attract foreign cloud investment. Amazon, Microsoft, and Google have committed nearly $57 Bn to Indian data centres.
