DOJ: Binance Used to Funnel $1.5B to Iran

The US Department of Justice has filed a forfeiture complaint seeking to seize $61 million in cryptocurrency. Federal prosecutors allege that two Hong Kong-based companies, Hexa Whale and Blessed Trust, used Binance to funnel approximately $1.5 billion to Iran. The funds were allegedly proceeds from black-market Iranian oil sales to Chinese buyers, routed through a network funding Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
