Arq, a UK quantum startup founded in 2025 by Samuele Grandi and Emanuele Distante, raised $1.4 million in pre-seed funding led by Ground State Ventures with Big Sur Ventures. The company develops quantum repeaters using rare-earth doped crystals and multiplexing to connect quantum computers over long distances via fiber optic networks.
