UN warns AI outpaces global regulation

The United Nations released a preliminary report from its Independent International Scientific Panel on AI on 1 July, warning that AI capabilities are accelerating faster than governments can understand, test, or regulate them. Secretary-General António Guterres said the world cannot govern what it cannot understand and urged governments not to wait.
