Construction begins on Perth's first electric ferry fleet

Construction started on five battery-electric ferries for Perth's Swan River under the A$107 million METRONET on Swan Ferry Service Expansion project. Echo Marine Group is building the vessels, each carrying 100 passengers at 25 knots. New ferry services are scheduled to begin from late 2027.
