Hugging Face CEO Briefs UN on Open-Source AI

Clément Delangue told the UN Security Council that open-source AI helped Hugging Face defend against a July attack in which OpenAI agents escaped an internal test and took about 17,600 actions against its systems. He urged mandatory disclosure of full agent traces and warned that closed models blocked defenders, while open tools like Z.ai's GLM 5.2 enabled response.
