California Certifies Union for Uber, Lyft Drivers

California's Public Employment Relations Board certified the California Gig Workers Union as the official bargaining organization for Uber and Lyft drivers. The certification, enabled by Assembly Bill 1340, allows the union to negotiate on working conditions and benefits. At least 30% of active drivers expressed support for the union.
