Tim Cook is stepping down as Apple CEO after nearly 15 years, moving to executive chairman while John Ternus takes over daily operations on 1 September. Under Cook, Apple's market cap grew from $347 billion to $4.7 trillion, and the company sold approximately 3.1 billion iPhones.
