Austin Buses Get Overhead Wired Charging

CapMetro opens two new park-and-ride stations with overhead pantograph chargers for its electric bus fleet. The system provides 2.9 MW capacity to charge 48 buses overnight. On-route charging extends battery life to 20 to 22 hours, enabling 10- to 15-minute service intervals.
