Nexterity Builds Robot to Automate Pipefitting Bolts

Nexterity, founded by former ExxonMobil engineer Lindsey Elliott, has developed a remote-controlled robot that loosens and tightens four pipe bolts at a time. The battery-powered device fits standard pipes and ships in a Pelican case. Elliott says 80% of pipes are 2 to 8 inches in diameter, making them ripe for automation. The startup is part of TechCrunch Disrupt's Startup Battlefield 200.
