Enceladus Ocean Could Host Alien Life, Studies Find

Two studies in Science Advances suggest Saturn's moon Enceladus may support Earth-like microbes. Researchers grew heat-loving Methanothermococcus okinawensis in a simulated soda ocean, and found Cassini's ice grains freeze slowly, pre-sorting organic molecules for easier detection. No mission to Enceladus has been formally approved, though NASA and ESA concepts have been floated.
