ByteDance developing second-gen AI phone for 2026

ByteDance halted production of its first Doubao AI phone after selling out roughly 30,000 engineering units. The company and ZTE are developing a second version expected by late 2026. ByteDance does not plan to build its own hardware, aiming instead to integrate its AI assistant into third-party devices.
