Nissan puts development of battery-electric Qashqai on hold

Nissan paused development of an all-electric Qashqai in early 2025, scrapping one of three planned battery-electric series for its UK plant. The compact SUV accounts for roughly 45 percent of Nissan's European sales. Nissan cited volatile EV demand and a shift toward hybrids as reasons for the decision.
