Homebuyer wins fight for engineer's audit of house

The Tamil Nadu Real Estate Appellate Tribunal upheld a homebuyer's right to appoint an independent engineer to inspect a villa for construction defects. The builder had resisted the inspection. The ruling allows the engineer to check for subpar materials and irregularities without harming the builder if claims are accurate.
