US Widens H-1B Abuse Probe

Federal investigators are expanding a probe into alleged H-1B abuses, including fraudulent hiring, worker exploitation and human trafficking, Labor Department Inspector General Anthony D'Esposito said. He warned the program could look very different within 365 days. A September 18 executive order tightens hiring controls, while entry restrictions run through September 21, 2027, requiring a $100,000 payment for covered petitions.
