Software engineer Alex Wormuth created a simulated fruit fly brain using a detailed neural map from Google and HHMI Janelia Research. The simulation, containing 25.6 million connections, processes game frames to control Doom. The project demonstrates the map's potential for neuroscience and has inspired other developers to teach the fly brain to play Super Mario 64 and Beat Saber.
