Scientists hunt heat-tolerant corals as bleaching crisis worsens

Anne Cohen of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution uses a robot called Yellowfin to locate resilient coral reefs in the Marshall Islands. Since 2023, record marine heat waves have caused the most severe global coral bleaching event ever recorded, impacting over 80 percent of reefs across 83 countries.
