The source code of KSOS, a secure Unix variant backed by the US Department of Defense in the late 1970s and 1980s, is now publicly available through The Unix Heritage Society (TUHS). TUHS founder Warren Toomey announced the addition. KSOS implemented type safety decades before Rust.
