BMW's iX5 FCEV features a 700-bar hydrogen storage system holding 6kg of hydrogen for 385-mile range. The Hydrogen Flat Storage system fits in the same space as Gen6 EV battery and shares the Heart of Joy control unit with BEV models. FCEV and BEV versions use identical electric motors and production lines support five powertrains including FCEV.
