DBOS Compiles Workflows into Databases

Jeremy Edberg and Qian Li presented DBOS Transact, an open-source library that compiles workflows directly into existing databases. The approach uses standard tables, SKIP LOCKED queues, and unique primary keys to manage complex AI workflows. This eliminates external orchestrators, reducing latency, infrastructure, and failure points while enabling durable execution.
