Alibaba's Quark builds AI rival to ByteDance's Doubao

Alibaba's Quark unit is developing an AI project codenamed "Plan C" focused on conversational AI products. The project is led by Quark's core team with support from Tongyi Lab. First results are expected soon. The "C" may stand for "Chat" or reference Pac-Man's bean-eating, hinting at a challenge to ByteDance's Doubao.
