Taiwan probes 17 Chinese firms over chip talent poaching

Taiwan's Investigation Bureau is probing 17 Chinese companies suspected of illegally recruiting local semiconductor engineers. Investigators searched 64 locations and questioned 114 people between mid-July and early August. The firms cluster around semiconductor manufacturing and integrated-circuit design, where Taiwan's lead is most valuable.
