A hacker known as Ben reverse-engineered the firmware of an Egret GT E-scooter after discovering a security flaw that allowed bypassing the PIN. He analyzed the Bluetooth protocol and CAN bus, then rewrote the firmware in Rust to close the vulnerability and remove telemetry.
