Linux and Secure Boot certificate expiration

A Microsoft key used by Linux distributions to sign the shim UEFI bootloader for Secure Boot will expire in September 2025. A replacement key has been available since 2023 but may require hardware vendor firmware updates. Most systems will likely survive, but extra work from distributors and users is expected.
