Cabinet Approves ₹2,814 Cr Lithium Nickel Scheme

The Union Cabinet approved a ₹2,814 Cr scheme to build four domestic lithium and nickel processing plants between FY27 and FY31. Beneficiaries receive milestone-linked subsidies capped at ₹500 Cr for lithium and ₹900 Cr for nickel, with minimum capacities of 30 and 50 kilo-tonnes respectively. This follows a December 2025 approval for a ₹1,500 Cr recycling incentive.
