A diagnostic log for the iPhone 18 Pro Max contains calibration data for a variable-aperture main camera, according to files allegedly stolen from Apple supplier Tata Electronics. The Sony IMX905 sensor retains 1.22-micrometer pixels. An aperture actuator would physically change the lens opening, adding hardware-level depth-of-field control for the first time on an iPhone.
