Quaise Energy raised $134 million in a Series B round led by Prelude Ventures, with JERA and Idemitsu joining, to build Project Obsidian, a superhot geothermal plant in Oregon. The startup uses microwave drilling technology from MIT to reach deeper, hotter rock and aims to deliver first power by 2030.
