The Toast Institute released a report on Sept. 22 finding that 35 percent of women in Canadian tech have senior sponsorship, compared to 51 percent of men. The gap is widest at the manager and senior level, where 32 to 37 percent of women receive active sponsorship versus 51 to 59 percent of men. Without sponsorship, 25 to 34 percent of women believe leaving is necessary to advance, versus 10 percent of men.
