MDA Space buys majority stake in French satellite firm

MDA Space is purchasing a 70 percent stake in Collecte Localisation Satellites (CLS) for 567 million euros ($920 million CAD) in cash. The deal combines MDA's satellite business with CLS's earth observation services. France's national space agency will hold the remaining stake. The transaction is expected to close in late 2025 or early 2027.
