XWorm RAT Evolves Into Surveillance Platform

Cybersecurity firm Netskope reports that XWorm RAT developers added plugins turning the malware into a surveillance platform. The threat saw over 1,200 incidents across 100 organizations in the third quarter. Plugin counts rose from 35 in July 2025 to 46 in October 2026, enabling location tracking and live audio streaming.
