New Tools Cut AI Data Traffic and Delays

Researchers led by Kyunghan Lee developed TACToC and mzCache to optimize smartphone AI. TACToC reduced communication costs by up to 14.5× while keeping accuracy loss within 3 percentage points. mzCache reduced response times by up to 5.5×. The papers were accepted for ACM MobiCom 2026, held in Austin, Texas, from Oct. 26 to 30.
