Claude Sonnet 5 launches cheaper and more autonomous

Anthropic released Claude Sonnet 5, its most agentic Sonnet model, capable of planning multi-step tasks and using tools autonomously. It costs $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens through August 31, 2026. Sonnet 5 scores 63.2% on an agentic coding benchmark, up from Sonnet 4.6's 58.1%.
