You don't need to worry about recursive-self-improving AI, yet

Anthropic co-founder Jack Clark and researcher Marina Favaro published a blog post claiming Claude could reach recursive self-improvement, but the post appeared shortly before a rumored $1 trillion IPO. The concept is decades old, and even the authors admit it is not inevitable. AI progress has historically been followed by dormant periods.
