Govt waives customs duty on electronics inputs

The government waived basic customs duty on goods used in manufacturing display assemblies, lithium-ion cells, and inductor coil modules. The finance ministry issued three notifications for the waiver. The move promotes domestic production of smartphones, laptops, wearables, and smart TVs.
