Meta Plans Local Facial Recognition for Smart Glasses

Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth outlined plans for a NameTag feature that runs facial recognition locally on the device, not from a central database. The feature would store encrypted face data only from people met in person. Meta previously collected and stored faces of 1 billion people via Facebook before lawsuits forced deletion.
