Current AI builds open public AI infrastructure

Nonprofit Current AI, seeded with $100 million from France and backed by $400 million total, builds open public AI infrastructure. It launched Suno Sutra, an offline device running AI in 22 Indian languages, and Alpha Chat, an open-source chatbot. Current AI allocated $3.2 million in grants to four organizations across Kenya, Lebanon, and the Brazilian Amazon.
