The SEC alleges Ellen Polcari, once a nanny for a venture capitalist's children, became controller and moved about $1.28 million of investor money into her own accounts for gambling, shopping and meals. The complaint, filed September 18 in New Jersey federal court, says the firms raised $28.7 million from at least 85 investors between April 2023 and March 2025.
