Brain network switching linked to creativity

Across 2,433 people, divergent-thinking ability was associated with how frequently the default mode and executive control brain networks switched between segregated and integrated states. The relationship did not appear for general intelligence. The open-access study appeared in Communications Biology in January 2025.
