Truffle Security scanned 224 million repositories and found 543,699 unique credentials still valid in July, with a median exposure of 784 days. About 36.8 percent appeared after GitHub enabled Push Protection by default in February 2024, and 51.8 percent fall outside its coverage, including database strings and Google API keys.
