Google's Gboard keyboard is preparing a Sign-to-Text input option that uses AI to convert sign language gestures into text. The feature, discovered in the beta version 17.8.3.939743344-beta-arm64-v8a, processes video on-device to extract raw gesture data, then sends that data to Google's cloud for analysis. Privacy protections keep the actual video on the device.
