China Launches Supercomputing-1 AI Satellite

China launched nine satellites on September 20 aboard a Kinetica 1 Y18 rocket, including Supercomputing-1, built by S-AIDC to process Earth-observation data in orbit. The satellite aims to cut cross-regional processing from hours to minutes. It follows China's June approval of a Space Computing Industry Innovation Center, as orbital data centers gain momentum.
