Nous Research released Arete-27B, a 27B open-weight model fine-tuned from Alibaba's Qwen3.8-27B to strip Chinese state framing. On an 803-prompt eval, answers containing propaganda fell from 22% to 0.9%. The model runs on BF16 weights of 53.81 GB or a 17.20 GB quantized version.
