Survey: 56% of Drivers Eye EVs Over High Gas Prices

A 2026 study by Here Technologies and SBD Automotive found 56% of U.S. drivers surveyed said high gas prices increased their interest in electric vehicles. Public charging perception improved, with 47% now calling it adequate, up from 28% in 2025. Price remains the top barrier, cited by 40% of respondents. The study also found 77% of current EV owners plan to buy another EV.
