Ripple patches decade-old XRP minting bug

RippleX fixed a critical overflow bug in the XRP Ledger on Sept. 25 without a validator vote. The 2015 flaw could have let an attacker mint 18 trillion XRP, 184 times the 100 billion cap. AI agent Veria Labs found the issue and received the maximum $250,000 bounty, marking the largest payout for an AI-discovered vulnerability.
