Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra, and Flip 8 debut silicon-carbon batteries, rated at 1,200 charge cycles before dropping below 80% capacity. That's down from the 2,000-cycle rating of the Fold 7 and Flip 7 lithium-ion cells, despite larger capacities.
